Born in Jakarta on 17 August 1962. Agus began working from as early as his middle school days, in order to pay his tuition. In 1992, he received a degree in Economics. In 2007, he graduted cum laude in his education for a management program. He delved into the world of business from when he was still in college.
From 1988 to 2000, Agus founded several trading companies, however his true passion lay in business with more social and humanitarian purposes. This choice of his can be traced back to his belief and faith that humans are envoys sent by God to help one another – no man can exist on his own. Mankind can only grow prosperously, in both the materialistic and spiritual sense, with the people surrounding them.
The first step towards his goal for humanitarian fulfillment was in 2008, where he and his wife, Vina, opened up and broadcasted the PMTCT program to their community, as well as offering follow-up training seminars and a flea market sale to help raise money for the affected communities.
In 2012, Agus and Vina began offering preschool services to children with HIV, operating out of their home in the Tambora distrct of Western Jakarta. This service was later dubbed “Healthy School” by their community because not only were they providing academic support, but also the necessary health and nutrition benefits growing young children require. All of the services VSE offers are free of charge to whomever they are given too.
As of 2015, much to the helpful and loyal support of friends and family, Agus and Vina’s activities was officially recognized as a nonprofit organization, now known as VSE. The programs the foundation offers are as follows: “Healthy School”, dormitory and housing for children living with HIV, scholarship programs, PMTCT, counseling, and so forth.
